Discoloration factors can divided in two groups : inside and out side. Inside factors are those which cause discoloration tooth from inside of them. Outside factors are affected from outer surface.
The internal factors which affect on discoloration tooth
- Drugs: taking some medicine in fetal circulation and childhood which cause discoloration.
- Fluoride: fluoride is an element that needed for tooth resistance, but high amount of it, causes tooth discoloration yellow-brown teeth, with white and brown spots on them.
- Root canal treatment: many teeth, after root canal treatment changes their color. There are many reasons for such a change in color, including bleeding from dental pulp during root canal treatment, remaining pulp on crown and the effect of the filling material on canal.
- Blow to teeth: in many cases, causes tooth discoloration. The bleeding of the pulp when blowing and leakage to dentin is the factor of discoloration in these cases.
- Tooth infection: milky infection tooth and permanent tooth will be discoloring if not treated in time.
- Inherited, acquired and congenital disease:In these cases, disease such as blood, skin or congenital are enamel and dentin defects.
The external factors which affect on discoloration tooth
- Food pigments : colored food causes tooth discoloration over time, these include tomato sauce , saffron , citrus juice
- Tea: using too much tea, especially if it is bold, causes teeth discoloration
- Coffee: this drink also causes discoloration if uses too much.
- Cigarette smoke: one of the worst type of tooth discoloration
- Mouthwashes: mouthwash is a therapeutic use in dentistry and dentists may prescribe it in different ways.countinuing use of mouthwash , disrupted microbial flora and causes tooth discoloration.
